I must admit that there are times I've been a victim of my own thoughts. You see, there's so much power in our thoughts that it triggers emotions, emotions with an almost unbearable intensity that it propels us to act on it or say something about it. At the most, I think we become vulnerable when we do so. At least, it's how I feel. The greatest miracle to date, happened today. Not just one, but three. He is amazing. God is amazing. Words cannot express or even justify His goodness. I am thrilled, I am in awe. There are times you feel strong enough to handle whatever comes your way. But when it's right in front of your face, that thickening swoosh of pain from your chest blocks the air from your mouth. It was all I could do before I slept, upon waking up, on that bus ride, and every minute thereafter - SURRENDER. Being twenty is probably my transition phase. It's the year I experienced my internship, rising through the challenge of Thesis 2 and getting 4.0, baccalaureate and graduation, pre-employment hassle, getting into the "real" world, finally spending our anniversary together on the exact day, great depression days because of my career & shift, my faith being shaken, and everything else falling apart in front of my eyes. Today I had my usual walk with HIM in the park, where lantern lights make the path walk clearer from a distance. It was three long rounds, where mixed emotions raged like a storm, calmed by His presence. My fever is gone, but the stinging sensation in my throat, and that dry feeling from my chest whenever I breathe still agitates me. I woke up at 7:30 am and did a couple of chores, ate breakfast and went back to bed. My mom brought me lasagna from goodles for lunch, then I headed off to bed again. There are things in life we can't control like being deployed in a project that you think won't make you grow your career or being mandated to go to work on a graveyard shift or having a cracked tooth. Attending an early morning mass is always a great way to start the day, and is a perfect weekender. I was at peace knowing that God is glorified through the Eucharist. Day 9 : Feverish Friday
I woke up today in heat. I could barely move my body, and my eyes are sore. My head is like a beating drum, and I feel like I'm on fire. I hate the sick feeling... My simple moment of bliss though was getting a taste of red velvet cupcake from Moonleaf. I just had one, but it was plain awesome! After my momentous meal, I was back to being sick. Too many times I've tried to hinder myself from writing because I am too focused on starting next year.
