Poetic Haul #008 : Pain

Pain is at its worst,
when the one you love
starts being the one who
used to love you more

Pain is at its worst,
when the one you love
doesn't look at you
or see you the same way

Pain is at its worst,
when you were once promised
to always be his one and only
but now you're just a distant memory

Pain is at its worst,
when what was once reality
starts fading into dreams
and you're left with hope alone

Pain is at its worst,
when you used to be a team
with the power of two, conquering
but now you stand alone

Pain is at its worst,
when the one who promised you
a love that grows, no matter what happens,
is the first to lose sight of love

Pain is at its worst,
when you don't know where to stand
cause you were once everything,
but now you barely mean something

Pain is at its worst,
when everything seems to be going nowhere,
but you still hang on, believing
that love will always endure

Pain is at its worst,
when you still find yourself loving more,
even if it breaks, but you just don't know why
you still make yourself whole

Pain is at its worst,
when you find yourself worthless,
because what you can't give, what you are not,
is given and seen in someone else

Pain is at its worst,
when memories and promises
are the only things you could hold on to
and faith, hope and love

Pain is at it worst,
when you don't know where you're heading
but you still keep believing,
that this is all just a test of love

Pain is at its worst,
when you know that Jesus
is the only one who could save you
and who could make you whole

Pain is at its worst,
when you could still see yourself
giving yourself, giving all your love
to the one who caused you the worst pain
